Artists / Richard Heeps
c-type print from negative, various sizes available
Richard Heeps is a photographer that lives and works in Cambridge. His images reflect his personal view of Cambridgeshire and the surrounding Fens. He uses highly-saturated colours and compositions to demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter.
"In my work, I find beauty in ordinary things. I am inspired by traces of individuality, timelessness and composition to create extraordinary images with a sense of enduring values. My work aims to capture the feel of the subject; I record rather than glamorise."
Heeps has exhibited widely throughout the UK and has exhibited in France and New York. Heeps' work has been published in four books, the most recent being 'Man's Ruin' and 'Rolled Out'.
His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. The collectable colour photographs are hand-printed from negative and combined with the best in traditional processing using the latest archival products - from photographic paper to mount board.
