"I have recently made the transition from working on canvas to glass. Painting on the reverse of the glass forces me to consider every mark, constantly building up layers until the whole sheet is covered. I am essentially painting back to front -any marks or accent colours that would traditionally be added last need to be placed on the glass first as subsequent layers are then painted on top. It is this well planned process that has encouraged me to create increasingly crisp and simple work.

The highly saturated colours sparkle like polished precious stones -the lack of any texture removes all shadows making the pieces glow, allowing the colours to be as vivid as possible.

I draw inspiration from a huge variety of places, the seasons, changing weather and flowers have all led to some of my most successful paintings."
